I got nothing

So I was hoping to be able to post something on my new SDCC 2018 set I just got in, but I have not received it yet.  Looks like I was one of the lucky ones that was able to get my online order in when they released it, but it never came in the mail.

Fast forward to yesterday, and I sent an e-mail to the support desk about the order.  Looks like I won't be getting my set because I had them ship it to my PO Box, and they cannot deliver to a PO Box and I will be getting a refund soon.  Not that I am really upset, but I really wanted this set for the price they were paying for it, and if they do not ship to PO Boxes, then I just wish they would program their site to not accept those for shipping addresses.

Either way, I will be picking up this set somehow.  Maybe I can order it again when it get's returned and they put it back into inventory?  Or I pick it up on eBay.  Just sucks I was lucky enough to get the cards in, but not get them shipped to me.

On an update note, I should be getting in 3 sealed booster boxes soon.  I am getting two from CardSphere and one from Card Kingdom.  I had to pull the trigger on the 4th Edition Booster box because of the price.  It was really cheap considering the crazy prices that were getting posted now that Revised is at $10k per box.  It is completely outside of what I had setup for my budget, but I just had to pick it up.

Prices are going higher, and I am getting close to finishing up the sealed part of the collection.

Speaking of, I am getting to the point where I am tired of playing the slow game, so what do I do?  Yeah that is right, I am pushing hard now.  Hopefully I will be able to send an update about what I have been doing sooner rather than later, but if you have been reading my blog, you will know that I am just breaking down and picking up everything I can in one fell swoop.

I am no longer waiting on my extra Power 9 cards, and I am going for everything I need.

So yeah, that is it.  Nothing really cool, but wanted to give you an update.  Things are really slow right now, but hey things are still coming in.

Commander 2018

Commander 2018 just released and I spent all weekend sleeving and doing my inventory thing.  I still need to make the labels and sort, but that should be pretty easy.  I did try and pick some up from Rudy but he ran out before I could get my order in, and considering how little I am picking up from him, I would rather just spend that $20 subscription at my LGS where I know I can get everything I am looking for.

We will see.

But yeah, I was able to get my 2 full sets of decks from Lodestone Coffee and Games here in Minnesota.  I grabbed them at MSRP like I always get, but they did give me a 10% discount for the pre-order.  Again, since it is for the collection, I am not too concerned with my cost basis since it just adds to the collection as a whole.  I keep a set sealed for the collection, and then I break up a set so I can play with them.  I also like to keep track of what cards are in what sets in case I want to build the decks again.  I can also track which cards were first prints in the set.

In the end I was not very excited for the set, and it was done because I need to pick up everything.  There are a couple of cool cards in the sets, but those are all first prints.  The reprints are getting to be stale.  It is like Chronicles release but over a very long time.  It is like we get a couple of really cool new cards filled with a bunch of trash.

Arabian Nights Needs: 4!

Now to the exciting news!

Picked this up from CardSphere!  Another (Light) Arabian Nights card I needed!  Now I only need 4 more to complete my set!  Yeah, I am pretty excited about these cards coming in on a trading platform.  After spending multiple years on Deckbox, I would never think of getting these types of cards.  Just wonderful!

And a nice little pickup with this one!  Nothing crazy to talk about, just happy to be finishing up my ABU AAL sets!

So yeah, the updates are coming in slowly still.  Not really picking up much, and sitting in a stable run.  Not really picking up things I do not need, and just sticking with stuff on my lists.  Locking up the budget for the year end push, and I do not think anything after the new fall release will come out.  That does clear up 3+ months of not having to buy anything at the end of the year.

I really hope they do keep that part of the release schedule.  I really miss not having to spend anything at the end of the year, and using that time to play catch up with my budget.  I have spent a bit more than I wanted to this year, and really need to lock that up for next year.

With Unstable, Battlebond, and Iconic Masters pick ups it seems like I spent way too much this year.  And I did speculate on Ixalan more than normal.  I do have a lot of Buy-A-Box packs from Ixalan which have gone up in price, and I only see them going up more.

One bright spot on the budget, I did not spend a ton at the Minneapolis Grand Prix, but that was only because no one was selling sealed booster boxes.  I think that would have been different if there was a sealed seller there.

I still need to do my yearly drive around, but I do not think I will find anything I need.

So I hope to get you more updates when they come in, but right now it is going pretty slow.
