Hiddie Hoo!

Yeah I did a thing.  It was not a huge thing, but it was a thing.  It was the weekend and I had a Friday off, so I decided to head up to my LGS near the house and wanted to pick up some stuff.  So with Dominaria I only bought 4 Booster Boxes, and opened up everything without leaving me anything to keep sealed.  This was all in the plans so I could pick up a couple of cases to not open using Rudy and Alpha Investments.

Enter Battlebond, and how much I really want those lands, I will only be picking up 1 case of Dominaria and I am grabbing more of the Battlebond set.  I know, why would I do that!?  Just pick up more Dominaria!  Well Battlebond is not a Standard set and Dominaria is, so I know I can pick up more Dominaria in the next 2 years.

So I am really putting my new purchase plan into play here, still only pre-ordering a small amount so I can free up some of my cash for purchases like this.  Trying to take advantage of these times to grab more of the sealed product that I think will be worth more in the later years.

Coming back around, I did just pick up 1 sealed box, just because I do not buy much from this specific LGS, and wanted to throw them some support.  Now I have my collection sealed Booster Box and I do not need to buy anymore Dominaria sealed if I don't want to.

BAM!  What the fuuuuaaaa!

Yeah, this was the last card I needed for my full set of Masters 25.  I have been looking around for a while to pick up this one, and saw that Grey Duck Games had it, so I snagged it!  Honestly I think I will go back to this smaller LGS around Oct to see if they have any other Masters boxes (Iconic or 25) and see if they want to clear out some of their inventory to pick up the new Ravnica sets.

They also had these cheaper cards that I wanted to grab while they were at the lower price point.  Most of these are mythic rare cards, and I kicked myself when I should have grabbed Hazoret when it was at $2.00 to fill out my playsets, so I am really trying to get out there and snag up the Mythic Rares at the lower price points before they pop.  My though process is that they might be around the $2-$5 price range, and after rotation the prices will go lower, but I can still grab these Mythic Rare cards at these price points knowing that sooner or later it will get around those prices at some point.

I still plan on trying to pick up most of this stuff after rotation, but I figure with Mythic Rares I could just finish my sets early.

FYI, my Mox Amber was list price around $19, but I just wanted to finish my playset.

Oh yeah, Karn... $65?  Fuck that in the goat ass!  I will be waiting for the next print release and the max box openings to pick up those.  Pretty sure I will be spending around $50 to grab my playset of those, but there is no pain in just waiting to see what happens.  I have no problem paying $65 for Karns, just not a month after release.

Suck it CardSphere!  Boom!  Yeah, I am getting a lot of Unlimited cards from CardSphere and I love it!

This little guy.  It is a little more on the MP side but I was really happy to get this through CardSphere.  The trader was really nice and helpful.  Looks like I had the (Light) printing it, and he sent me the (Dark) version.  Now I need 5 more of the two version printings of the Arabian Nights set for my complete set.

And just to add a CardSphere update, I was getting there and it was getting impressive.  I was really close to $1600 balance, and it was getting sexy.  Then a trader reserved the right to send me a bunch of booster boxes.  Now, I am not complaining, but I was getting really attached to my balance, and now it is all gone.  So I am off to the races to get more of a balance again.

But seriously, all the sealed Booster Boxes I am getting from CardSphere?!  It is nuts!  I know I keep saying it, but I never thought I would be getting this many sealed boxes from a trade site.  I am just amazed.  As long as you just put a decent price on the sealed Booster Boxes, someone will send you what you are looking for.  And considering I am shipping bulk and cards I do not want, I am making out like a bandit with CardSphere!

Total Card Count: 198

It has been a while since I have been able to use the total card count, but I am also not really tracking it anymore.  I am left with getting everything that has been recently printed outside of ABU, but hey...

Finished up those crappy Planeswalker uncommon cards I need.  Nothing special but knocking them off using CardSphere is just easy.  It has put some thoughts in my head to try and put my Standard Needs on CardSphere to finish out my sets, but I still really want to head up to my LGS and pick those up there.  It is all about supporting places that sell me things that I like.

First it is going to be my LGS, then it will be CardSphere, and then maybe Card Kingdom.  Fuck TCGPlayer in the fucking ass.  I hate that site.  HATE!!!!

BAM!  And yes, all the cards in this update came from the Netherlands.  I swear there is this one guy that buys and opens the Planeswalker deck just to trade to me.  Does he like the packs?  Does he want the cards for his decks?  I should really ask him the next set that is released with these decks.  I do plan on reaching out to him before posting next time.  Since I am getting all the heavy hitting cards from him, I might as well get everything I need from him.

I have the labels for Masters 25 and Dominaria all printed out, I just need to put them on the separators and organize them into my sets.  I have just been so lazy with my collection.  With the addition of my son, I just find myself away from my cards and computer more and more.  At times I just wish he was older so I could start teaching him and see if he likes playing.

I hate Planeswalker Decks

My love for CardSphere grows along with my hate for Planeswalker decks.  I only get 1 set of decks every release but I keep them sealed, but as you have read before I am left with having to get a playset of the Planeswalker Deck only cards for the collection in other ways.  The only real card that costs me anything are the foil Planeswalkers, and it is around $6 per, so that adds up to be around $48 just on those cards.  Everything else I can get below $5.

It is just painful to have to spend some of my CardSphere balance on these types of cards, but I am sure happy CardSphere is there or I would be spending a lot more on getting these cards.

Let's take a look at what came in!

This was the first trade I got in, and it was a pretty good one.  Normally someone in the Netherlands sends me what I need, but there was a slight delay so this person got in first.  I think next release I will just reach out to him directly since he does get me all the higher priced ones I need.

Then I got this big order from another CardSphere trader.  It was nice because I pretty much filled out all the Commons, Lands, and Rares that I needed.  Now I am just hoping the person from the Netherlands comes through and finishes my needs out.

And I just have to add this nice little pickup for the Unlimited cards I am looking for.  Now I only need 25 more cards to finish my Unlimited set!  Crazy!

But yeah, that is just the small adds I wanted to share this week, and as I write this I almost forgot!

Bam!  I picked up a Lorwyn Fat Pack!  Again, just wanted to say how surprised I am with getting all the sealed product I am getting from CardSphere.  It is just great I am able to trade out all my bulk for items like this, which leads me to just keeping that balance up so I can get these types of items!

The market is up!  And Reserve List cards are fucking crazy...

So I wake up today and check out the old Twitter.  After fuddling through changing my password because of some storage of my passwords in clear text issue Twitter had, I get to my most awesome MTGStock.com updated.

Now, I don't know if it is legal for me to post directly from their website, but I love their site and check prices everyday to look for spikes, and this is what I have been seeing for the past 3 weeks.  I really just wanted to show anyone that reads my blog that RL cards are going crazy.  The shitty crappy RL cards are even spiking hard.  And this list goes on and on.  Like everything that is on the RL is just spiking.

My Send list in CardSphere is full of people paying above 100% for the RL cards I have.  It is just crazy!  I am not sending anything out as of now, but I think if the prices get to crazy, then I will be sending out.

I don't know when this is going to stop, and I hope it does not stop anytime soon because I have my sets I am looking for, but anything that will help me out getting the sealed product I still need, I am all for it!

Next up, I got this little beauty in the mail from a CardSphere sender.  Thank you CS!  I got it for list prices, so I am not complaining.  I figure why try and low ball sealed product when the more rare it gets, the higher in price it will go.  So for now, since I am sending cards I do not need, and getting sealed product I do, I am all for these types of trades.  Again, I think it was someone who found a good price somewhere and had it shipped to their house, and then they sent it off to me.  But again, this is what I am using the site for as my brokerage house.

What we have here is my Buylist I am sending to ABUGames.com.  Seems as though they are looking for a ton of foreign cards and are paying really good prices for them.  I am also sending a bunch of bulk 4th Edition, but that was pulled earlier today, and I forgot to take a picture of it.  I am hoping to turn this into a box of Future Sight!

So as soon as I finish up with work, I am off to the post office to send some cards!  Hoping to keep doing the Buylisting too for sealed product.  It will be really good to have Phase 4 all done.  I know I am not close, but it feels really good to keep moving in the right direction.
